/On July 29, 2019, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the proposed rule containing updates to the Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) regulations. This proposed FINAL rule will impact reimbursement for existing assistive technology, AND new technologies yet to come to market. In addition, the proposal seems to be another way that CMS can reduce reimbursement levels for new technologies once they enter the marketplace.
RESNA will be submitting comments by the deadline of September 27, 2019. Your comments and feedback are important. Attached is an overview of the rule by Rita Stanley, with important parts highlighted.
