Appy Hour

The LiveWell RERC and Shepherd Center’s Noble Learning Resource Center hosted an Appy Hour event on October 3rd. The event included demonstration of a variety of apps that may be helpful for people with acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury or multiple sclerosis, which are the primary patient populations served by the Shepherd Center. The event was attended by patients, families and staff as well as community partners including those from local universities and healthcare organizations.

BEST Suite

The Appy Hour event also served as a launch party to showcase a brand new suite of apps, the Brain Education Strategies & Technology (BEST) Suite, which was designed for (and by) people with brain injury. The BEST Suite includes 4 apps that all work together to help people manage energy and fatigue, set an monitor goals, identify and use helpful strategies and remember to complete everyday tasks and projects. The Best Suite was funded in part by the LiveWell RERC App Factory Development of the BEST SUITE application was supported in part by the Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center for Community Living, Health and Function (LiveWell RERC) funded by a grant from the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under (grant no. 90RE5028).”
